| Memorial University of Newfoundland, the host institution of AquaNet, sponsored the AquaNet Distinguished Lectureship Series. This series provides a forum through which esteemed aquaculture experts can foster awareness and promote discussion of issues that are key to the long-term sustainability of Canadian aquaculture. The 2002 AquaNet Distinguished Lecturer is Dr. Barry Costa-Pierce who gave a presentation on: "Ecological Aquaculture: The Evolution of the Blue Revolution."
Memorial University of Newfoundland also co-sponsored the travel of Memorial AquaNet graduate students and post-doctoral fellows to present their research results during AquaNet II.
