The Aquaculture Association of Canada (AAC) was established in 1984 to foster the development of aquaculture in Canada. One of its objectives is to organize conferences and workshops on the science, business and technology of aquaculture. The Aquaculture Canada meeting is held annually and typically draws 400 to 600 participants from Canada and many other countries. AAC also publishes the proceedings of workshops and special sessions from the conference in its publications (the Bulletin of the Aquaculture Association of Canada and the AAC Special Publication series). AAC is a strong supporter of undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in aquaculture and related programs, offering scholarships, providing travel grants to attend the annual conference, and awarding prizes for the best oral and poster paper. |
