|
| Title: | Aquaculture, scientific discipline and networks: An analysis of the challenges posed by applied research in aquaculture and the need to cross traditional discipline boundaries |
Research Summary
This research project focuses on examining the issue of aquaculture research. Since aquaculture is an activity that involves natural, social sciences and political sciences, research combining these different fields needs to be done. This implies that investigators of diverse origins must combine their expertise to serve society and answer questions put by society in a manner that reinforces their ability to co-operate and communicate.
By analysing how aquaculture research on shellfish farming and salmon farming has been conducted in the past and by examining past AquaNet activities, the researchers aim to further improve the organisation of aquaculture research.
